Going... Going... Gone!

I remember playing baseball in the field beside my house. I was warming up, but still cold, when the blood sprang from my mouth. I remember watching baseball, sitting in the cheapest seats and wishing more than anything that they'd bring in some relief.
Because I'm going... going... gone! Wish I could walk away, but I just run back home. I'm going... going... gone! One strike away from losing it all. I'm going... going... gone! I'm batting 0 for 10 this year. I'm going... going... gone! I'm touching base, but I'm still far away from home.
It's in the dirt, and I'm throwing it all away. I had a lead that was too far off base, but before I walk please hear me say

Mixed-Use Condos

When I was a kid my family would travel down to the ballpark where the Braves used to play, go down the street, take 20 to Hank Aaron, sat in the seats on the side of third base.
I said, "Daddy, won't you take me back to Old Fulton County, down by Peoplestown where the Braves used to play?" He said, "I'm sorry, my son, but you're too late in asking, 'cause ol' GSU's gone and blown it away."
I went to the store to buy me some spinach to make a big salad for dinner that day. Outside the doors -- I could hardly believe it -- the cops, they were dragging the homeless away.
I said, "Daddy, won't you take me back to Old Fulton County, down by Peoplestown where the Braves used to play?" He said, "I'm sorry, my son, but you're too late in asking, 'cause ol' GSU's gone and blown it away."
It's 8:00, and I'm driving down Moreland, passing the place where my home used to stand. Now all I can see are these mixed-use condos and greedy developers, just rubbing their hands.

Oh, when I die, please let it be peaceful. "Never one for violence," that's what they will say. But if I'm halfway to Heaven, and I see another Wal-Mart, please spread my ashes somewhere farther away.
